journey to nostalgia

9:05 a.m.

so my cousin sent me this forward last night, and i thought it was pretty cool. it's a bunch of pictures of nostalgic shit from my childhood days of saturday morning cartoons and toys and stuff. it made me think alot about what i was into when i was a kid and makes me wonder how much of an effect it had on who i am today. it's interesting.

i think had one of these when i was a kid

i actually really liked this show. at first i was all embarassed to watch it, but it was actually funny and you really got to know the characters. yeah, i thought about things like that as a kid!

Go-Bots were cool! whenever transformers weren't on, i'd watch them. they were the cheap alternative and could easily passed off as transformers, but never the same.

it's captain CAVE-MAN! he's a furry guy with a club that seemed to always get all the women.

i love he-man. i think i still have some episodes on beta! the new show is cool, too. i remember i had a he-man doll, but somehow i lost his head in my neighbor's backyard. i could never find it. so somewhere in the garage, i have a headless he-man.

these guys look familiar, but i never played too much with them. i remember a video game on nintendo about these guys that a friend of my brother's had. that's about it.

i had a moose with rollerskates on, a doll. i guess now i know where he comes from!

this guy freaked THE SHIT out of me. it didn't help that the chucky movies were based on this guy. i wanted NOTHING to do with him. i still get chills when i see this picture.

JEM fucking ROCKS! check out her mad styles, yo! it's off the hook!

never had any, but we give them out here at work.

don't know who these guys are, but LOOK! he's on a surfboard with rockets! i wonder if i make one, i can fly like him!

i use to secretly love this show! i use to have to hide the fact that i watched this from my brother. i mean, i'd watch the carebears and rainbow brite, but if i added this to the list, i'd get shit from my brother. DUDE, if he couldn't figure it out then, he'll never know i'm gay! haha.

never really knew how to get the most of these things

the popples were cool! you could reach up inside their ass and pull their insides out and make them into a ball, and then kick them around the room! so much fun!

they made being locked up so much fun!

i could only get one side of the rubik's cube done, i never could figure out the other sides.

conjunction junction...what's your function?

this game was cool, yet challenging and intriguing at the same time.

ahh...yes. She-Ra, long lost sister to He-Man. i loved the crossover episodes.

this show sucked ass, but i'd still try to watch it whenever i could!

one of my absolute favorites!! they need to bring them back! this show was so cool! i had the sword and it lit up, it was so cool. and then i had thundercats sleeping bag and some of the action figures. i was the coolest kid on the block! and then we moved. damn.

i use to love this show on nickelodean! it was about these two mannequins in this department store. and after everyone would leave, they would come to life and everything in the store came alive and they would teach you about stuff. it was so cool.

it's the smurfs, what more can i say?

i never watched this show. i think maybe once or twice, but i saw it recently on toon disney a couple times.

PBS kicked ass!

another PBS show i was obsessed with! the acting sucked major ass, but it was cool how they were all detectives in new york, and they were all kids and they got to run around the city and solve mysteries. it was cool. i kinda wish i could do that. but when i was that age, i couldn't really go anywhere. plus, i didn't have a "ghost" friend that could only communicated with me through reading and writing. but, i thought it was the coolest thing when i was a kid.

so there you go! just in case anyone wanted to know, a good place to look up old t.v. shows (and new) is www.tvtome.com. they seem to have almost every t.v. show i have ever looked up. it's really cool, cuz each show has it's own editor. and most of the time, they'll have complete episode guides and side notes. it's where i get all my news and information for Buffy and Angel. they can have good spoilers sometimes. but it's a great place to take a trip down memory lane and read up on those long lost good ol' shows.
