so i ended up seeing "catch me if you can," the new steven spielberg movie with leonardo dicaprio and tom hanks. it was actually pretty good. actually very good. i liked the whole 60's cinematic feel. the opening sequence was pretty cool, too. it was just like the old movies were, with the long intro and all the credits that went along with this really cool animation sequence. everything about the movie pretty much transferred you back to those times. the camera angles and cinematography to the soundtrack and the settings. it kind of reminded me a lot of hitchcock for some reason. there was scene where christopher walken's back took up most of the screen, his shoulder cut across tom hanks' face and all you can see was his eyes underneath his hat. it's definitely a classic shot, held for a long time. other shots were classic close-ups of the gun right before he'd enter the room.

i really didn't want to go see it. i was pretty antsy all night. i couldn't stop talking through the previews and the mini-comercials before that. we were making fun of everything, and just laughing. when the movie started, i was just not wanting to be there... it was pretty serious at some points and dramatic, i didn't want to be serious and dramatic. but it definitely was an entertaining movie. i liked it a lot. so i'm pretty happy that i went.
