9:53 a.m.so i had a thought in the car on the way to work this morning. i love music. i love writing it, i love performing it. i love it when other people play and perform and write it as well. i may have the beginning of the means to start a small sound lab/recording center in my garage. i would love that. so i was thinking that could be my focus for this next semester. i'm going to take as many music classes as i can, i.e. percussion, recording, piano, songwriting, music business... and i'm going to invest more effort into my music.
i was also thinking, what is success? we always attribute success to money and position, but i've never really felt that way. it's always nice to have money to blow, but i've always felt that i really don't care what job i work, just as long as i'm happy and loved. so i was thinking that, all the musicians and artists i know have crappy day jobs and such, or if they're not crappy, they enjoy them. because they're doing what they love. and i've been focusing all of my attention to getting out school for the sake of getting out, and it's just not working. it doesn't motivate me to attend my classes if i don't really have direction. well just to put this entry short... i have a new focus now. so let's hope i make it work.
