7:53 p.m.tonight i went to the application session for fedEx. but since i was missing a few details like the address of my high school and junior high and telephone numbers and contact names, and the last names to a couple supervisors that i couldn't track down and the last name of a professor, they sent me home. they said it would be a waste of time to turn in my application and that i should just come back next week.
they neglected to mention that they needed all that school info. i didn't know they wanted names of a teacher for each school. or the phone numbers. i spent all day trying to track down as much info as i could. but since this is a government job, they needed my life story for the past ten years. i wonder if they also want a list of guys i've dated or slept with. that would've been a chore.
so i decided to walk out with the handful of people tonight and come back next week in the morning.
today, i got a call from a staffing agency i applied with last month. they said that they have an opening for a receptionist position with this law firm in the financial district. the lady asked if i was still asking for 25k a year. i said yes. she said to come in and register tomorrow morning at 930. i don't know if this means that i'm getting 25k a year and that i got the job. she mentioned that they are a staffing agency, but also mentioned that the law firm is large and needs a receptionist for each floor. so i'm assuming that they're just going to place me wherever they need me when they need me. tomorrow morning i'll find out more details. but i think this means i'm going to start working soon. i think i have a job, and i may not need to go to fedEx to go through all that bullshit again.
so i'm pretty fucking stoked. on saturday, we're dressing up like santas for this event. then we're gonna walk around town getting drunk. so much fun, i can't wait! then on sunday, i get to chill with bitnet folks for a nogfest. i'm not very much a fan of nog. but i'm a fan of good times with good people. it should be fun.
